Today was truly an adventure as we set out early in the morning with our friends and professional Cavers with Hun Chi’ik Tours. Our amazing naturalist guides for the day were Rudy the Rude Boy, Nutty Nelson, and Curly. Somehow, Rudy managed to share with us a seemingly endless flow of magical information about the jungle without missing a step or loosing anyones interest during the entire hike to the entrance of the cave. He is truly one of the most informative and gregarious guides in all of Central America.

After about an hour and  a half  hiking we made it  to the entrance of Crystal Caves, where we geared up and chowed down on some local Belizian food while getting briefed by our local guides from  San Ignacio. Standing at the mouth of Crystal Cave was like standing in a doorway or portal to a very different world. As local legend describes it, we were just about to enter into the Mayan Underworld of Xibalba (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xibalba). Our dear friends at “Hun Chi’ik” guided us through this mysterious world showing us massive crystal rock formations that took thousands of years to form, as well as other fascinating cultural and natural wonders such as ancient ceremonial pots, sacrificial human remains, and the few species that had evolved to live deep within the earth like the infamous Wolf Spider.

Our experience in the cave today was like no other, full of wonderment and exploration! After spending some 10 hours in this vast cave system, it seemed like time ceased to exist. The Buffalo Tribe were truly stoic as this journey challenged all of us on so many levels; physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. After making our way out into the night of the jungle, we all felt as if we were being reborn into a new time and space, and we were ;)

Much thanks to our guides from Hun Chi’ik: Rudy, Nelson, and Curly. We will not forget this experience anytime soon.

As the universe conspires to bring oneness and balance within and through each of us, we remember our sacred soul contracts, and open our hearts to the sacred passage. Running Buffalo Journeys is AMAZED and thrilled to be running our very first tour with this heartfelt tribe of 12 and so grateful to be here NOW!

Our journeys will be winding through present day Guatemala, Belize, and Southern Mexico as we travel in the shape of a heart through this region known to the locals as, “El Corazon del Mundo’ or The Mayan Heartland. There is no coincidence here, and we are very aware that beyond our physical journeys we will be exploring and adventuring within and through our sacred hearts. A wise Cacao Shaman once told me that, “It’s not always about moving, but being moved”, and I couldn’t agree more. So here we go ;)

The energy is absolutely and unequivocally palpable as it engulfs our very being and our hearts. Not a day nor a moment passes without experiencing the bliss of being ALIVE. We have asked and prayed for abundance and our prayers have clearly been answered. We take this unconditional gratitude and extend our hearts and dreams to embrace all kingdoms of being on our path, which include our ancestors, the animal kingdom, the mineral kingdom, the plant kingdom, the winged ones, the creepy crawlers, ascended masters, galactic family, and of course our thriving global family.

We would like to take a moment and thank: Anna-Lena  Gustavsson our Trance Dance Goddess of Youth, Rick Seiger  our Quantum Heart Surgeon Stud, Christina Valladolid our Machupichu Priestess of Mirth, Julia  Crouch our Cacao Queen, Josh Foster the Top Hat-Mad Hatter of Heart, Corinne Foster our Flowering Ferry Maiden of Fire, Kristine Carlson our Diamond within the Lotus of Healing Hearts, Yvonne  Dutra St.John our Soul Mystic Mother of Myriad Miracles, Rich  Dutra-St.John our Tribal Leader of Tenacious Tender Love, and Momma Rosa our Golden Hearted Goose of Unconditional Love!!!!!!!!!!! May these photos give but a glimpse into the power of saying YES to Love and Livity!
